PowerBlock Elite EXP Series Adjustable Dumbbells – PowerBlock Elite EXP Adjustable Dumbbells are a compact dumbbell system utilizing a block shaped handle which inserts into a selectorized stack of weights and where the desired weight is locked and lifted for dumbbell training. Those familiar with the PowerBlock system will quickly recognized the classic square shape of the Elite EXP Series dumbbells. However, the Elite EXP has been modernized over previous model versions which utilized the original “Dial Lock” to secure the 2.5 pound chrome adder weights in the handle. The upgraded Elite EXP features the PowerBlock Auto Lock lever for opening and closing of the add-on weight tubes, which conveniently engages the locking mechanism automatically when the handle is inserted back into the weight stack.

What are the advantages of the PowerBlock Dumbbell System? With PowerBlocks, users can work out with a weight range from 5 pounds all the way up to 50, 70, or even 90 pounds, but still only take up the space in their home fitness studio or garage gym of a single pair of rectangular weights that are 6 inches wide each. PowerBlocks are more compact and balanced than traditional dumbbells, and have a comfortable contoured handle surrounded by padded support tubes that protects people with weaker wrists. Weight changes are quick and easy, with 10 pound incremental changes performed as easily as changing the weight selector pin on the side of each dumbbell block. PowerBlocks also feature two 2.5 pound add-on weight inserts per dumbbell for maximum versatility, allowing both 5 and 7.5 pound weight “step up” increments. This is definitely an advantage over most commercial dumbbell sets which traditionally do not offer 2.5 pound incremental “in between” sizes past 50 pounds.
